My alk is 7.4, and everytime i get an LPS coral, duncan or what else. They end up in same situation. They closed up their tentacles and thats it. Im just wondering if thats because of my alk. My lfs said for lps corals alk needed is 8.5 and not low 7s. I use tropic marin.

Alk in the 8's to 9's is often the goal. Stability more important with ALK......that's why we have these new alkalinity meters and dosers so they can test multiple times per day and dose regularly to keep alk stable.

Wait what new alk meters?

Mid 7’s is fine. Stability most important. Do 10% weekly water changes and give them some time.
