Lps corals for top third of tank

Hello fellow reefers,

Can anyone recommend any lps corals that can be placed in the top third of the tank. Currently all my corals are placed either bottom or middle but I’ve a couple of spaces in the top third I want to fill.

Euphyllia can take a good amount of light, maybe some torches

Duncans could work ive seen my lfs do it, maybe hammers but im not sure

Thank you for the replies. Already have a hammer, Duncan and candy cane that I’ve tried moving higher in the tank but they didn’t seem happy so had to move them lower ( don’t know if this is due to the fact I’m only a newbie and still learning). Would love a torch coral but my tank is only small so worried about it stinging my other corals.

Galaxia! Mine grows like crazy and takes the light and flow like an sps! Just keep it a good distance from prized corals. Nasty sweepers. Fast grower though

My tank is 13.5g. Have my hammer on it’s own rock that I can place a torch on but they would be about 4 inches apart if that would be ok. Also have my power head circulating in the top third so don’t know if there was too much flow on the corals when I tried them higher?

That would be fine. If their tentacles touched it wouldn't matter much. Also torches like higher flow than other euphyllia

Good luck with it! They're my favorite euphyllia for sure. I don't have one currently, I'm waiting to find a good deal on a gold one since I lost my last one in a tank crash. Super rewarding coral to keep.

Yellow hammer and green hammer can take high light and decent flow. Orange doesn't seem to like high light. All the torches I have like high light. My purple/green frogspawn has acclimated well to high light but did not like it at first. My neon green candy canes are in the middle of the tank but I would bet they would take high light. My duncans are on the bottom now but I had them up high and they did well.

Acans and chalices in my tank like lower light and lower flow. I have a red goni that I would like to frag and see what it does in higher light and flow but can't say right now, getting medium to low light.

i would actually say thats incorrect. theres many many many cases where torches attack hammers or frogspawn.
pretty sure they have done some genetic testing and found that torchs are actually not that closely related to the hammers and such

Always been my understanding that torches usually don't mix with hammers, frogs and octos. With that said my torches definitely appreciate more light and flow than my other euphyllia.
