Lps fragged with coral cutters

1. What lps species can be fragged with coral cutters?
2. What lps grow so slowly that they do not ever have to be fragged?
3. How fast do acans grow? Can I place them on sand? Can they touch each other?
4. Do lps have to be fed?

I've never attempted to frag mine, and it depends on the coral. The acans I have have grown fairly quickly. I got them with 2 polyps and in a year I have about 20. Mine are on a low rock about an inch away from the sand. I feed them about every 3 days usually with mysis and they are aggressive eaters. Careful what you put near them as they ate my candy cane that was a few inches below them

You can frag them with a band saw or hacksaw. I think I have a few years before I have to do anything though. They've got plenty of room now lol

So in my 55 if I get lets say 12 lps frags I will not have to do anything for a while?

I think you should be good for a while, placement will play a big part as well as parameters, lighting, and how much you feed. I'm no expert though

Do I have to feed acans or is optional like it is with hammers and duncans?

Acans grow quickly and can touch each other without a problem, I also think most LPS will benefit from regular feedings. These acans where single or double head frags 5 months ago, they are on a ceramic base on my sand bed and touch each other.

Its pretty fun to interact with them though. Feeding sparingly might help them not growing too quickly
