LPS ID Please??

I bought a Hammer, a Blasto, and what I thought was a Acan this morning at a LFS. It was beautiful when it was at the store; however, when I got home a bit had broken off and it is basically white now. I am not sure I actually got the right ID at the LFS. Do you think it's an Acan, and will it be ok since it split somehow on the way home? The piece up on the rock is the piece that broke off from the main piece below.

I don't think they're an LPS at all, they look like closed up zoanthids.

Not sure what that is but the surprise could be fun.... as that is no Acan. Once it is happy enough it will open and either you will know or post up pics and someone here will know what you have there.

Well this should be interesting then... I guess that's what I get for not really watching what they put in the bag after I selected it. I will definitely put some pics up once it opens. Hopefully, the breaking apart didn't hurt it too much. Thanks for the info everybody!

Low light and low flow, they should open up soon for you under those conditions

Thanks! Looks like they are starting to already, and they have only been in the tank for about an hour. Hopefully I can get some pics up by tonight.

Shouldn't be an issue. With both pieces that big there should be a good portion of the zoa mat retained in both. Even individual polyps can do well.

Looks like y'all were right! Sorry about the crappy pics, my phone does not do well focusing on underwater shots. The heads are a mix of reddish brown and neon green. Anyone know if this type is toxic? I ordered some arm length gloves just to be on the safe side.

Looks like u got some radioactive dragoneye zoanthids there. Nice addition to any Reef in my humble opinion. Polyps look plump and healthy. You may like them more than the Acan you chose initially. May not.

I am actually quite pleased with the surprise! Worked out well. Now it's just a waiting game for them to grow.

Some zoas can be toxic but it's the Palys (much larger generally) that are really bad. Still, be careful with all.

I hope you didn't pay the Acan price for those zoas. Even if you decide to keep them, IMO, you should talk to your lfs to make sure that switch does'nt happen again.

I got that one for $10, it was during thier annual "Reef Fest" event. There were probably over 200 people in our LFS. I am guessing the employee got distracted as she was talking to 4 or 5 different customers that were blasting her with questions at the same time she was grabbing my frags out of the tank. I am actually pretty happy with what I got.
