Ive had a 9 gallon for over a year and a half and it’s doing really well. Its low maintenance but ive always loved hammers. Do you think i can get away with 10-20% monthly water or would I need dosing equipment?

Things tend to happen quicker in a small tank. The parameters in my 30 swing much more than with larger tanks I have had in the past. That being said, it really depends on your livestock (corals and inverts) and how quickly they are depleting your alkalinity, calcium, magnesium and trace elements. A cheap single head doser and a 1 part dosing system Like All for Reef might be a good option for you. It will take a while to get it turned in so you will have to test often at first but then you should be able to maintain stability and have success.

My livestock seem to barely use any elements
