I have a couple of LPS, specifically a large bubble coral, and a torch that have lost all color. The torch was bluish/purpleish but now is completely clear. it looks okay, extensions come out and I feed it but it's just clear. the bubble coral was reddish/bluish and has 2 separate large heads. one head still has the same original color but the other has become clear on 3/4 of there bubbles. My parameters are great, alk is 8.5, cal is 425, mag is 1350. I use a apex Triten to auto dose and test. i dose 5 ml of Red Sea colors A iodine per day, 7ml of Red Sea Colors B potassiumpere day, 25ml of red sea colors C iron per day, 7ml of Red Sea D Trace Elements per day.

any ideas guys what could cause this loss of color. it's only in these 2 corals. all other corals look normal.

Your parameters look good, what is your salinity at? Why are you dosing so much of the Red Sea Trace, I also use Red Sea Trace and only dose a couple mil of each every other day. What type of lighting are you using and at what intensity? Also, when did you last calibrate your trident, I also have one and love it, but it does need to be calibrated. I calibrate mine every other month when I do a compete reagent change.

i have a 150 gal tank so that's maybe why my dosage is higher. plus more in the sump. salinity is 35.5. calibrated the trident last time I changed reagents, probably less than 2 weeks ago. lighting is provided by ecotech radio g4 pro. 6 of them. it gets about 100 par because it's at the bottom of the tank on the sand bed. they get 10 hours of light. 2 hours ramp up and 2 hours ramp down.

Is your Red Sea colors dosing based on testing? I use them occasionally at a much lower usage.

Any change in lighting? White led channels up too high will do this.

Do you test for everything you’re dosing with the Red Sea colors? What is your WC schedule? I was dosing an OTS micro supplement biweekly when I was doing monthly WCs, but I cut back to about 1/4 dose once a week only when I feed roids since I started doing 5-10% weekly changes. I didn’t test for everything in it, but my corals were starting to get p!$$ed off when I kept the same dosing schedule + the new WC schedule. My guess is that the new RC water had plenty of whatever they wanted and my dosing sent it over the top. After I a week of cutting back everything mellowed out and went back to looking normal.
