I see some people resting their LPS on small pieces of pvc as to keep them elevated off the racks, just curious is their a reason for this?

We often do it if the bottom of the piece is uneven and want to stand it up neatly. It also prevents sand and whatnot from settling on it

It also makes it possible to propagate corals without gluing them to frag plugs. Some buyers prefer the corals not to be glued so they can fasten them to their choice of rock location.
