I have a couple larger LPS (an elegance, a bubble coral, a frogspawn) that I have set in my sand bed. Every few months, somebody tips them over during the night (hermits, snails). This annoys the corals and me.
How do folks handle placing/mounting larger LPS on/in the sand so they don’t get knocked over? I thought of gluing to a flat piece of rock if I could find some at my LFS. Are there better ideas.

I would attach them to a piece of rock or something then stuff under the sand. Or stick to something egg crate even and place under the sand. Something with a larger base so they don’t get flipped as easily. Being a wrasse loving reefer, I know the feeling!

Just curious, do you think the corals are more annoyed by being flipped, or you? ;Blackeye;Nailbiting;Nailbiting

Well, I know that the bubble sits there silently judging the fish, and the frogspawn has said all sorts of nasty things about the hermits, so I’d guess they’re annoyed too. The elegance just pouts and won’t expand for a day.

I put them in stands i designed.

This one is a touch taller and buried in the sand.

Are those 3D printed? I could see that working if buried and low profile enough to not see the stand.

Yep, 3d printed and as low pro as i could make it. That one was buried until my goby decided it was blocking the view from his porch. He dug it up and drug it all the way across the tank. Still didn't tip over though :D
