This is truly an amazing coral that comes in an array of awesome variations. I would love to hear from you guys, what makes your Elegance happy and how long have you had your coral. So everyone feel free to post your pictures and opinions on this awesome coral!

Got her Nov 30, 2014. I put her on the sandbed with moderate alternating flow and so far everything is going well. I do give her a squirt of frozen mysis when I feed them to my fish.

A coral I have been wanting for a few years now. Looking forward to some pictures.

For me the are allusive. Had several for the years. Can keep about anything. The longest i have been able to keep elegance is about 6 months.

I have heard others have success stories. So in my case it must be my setup is not to their liking.

Where are the ones you are getting harvested from? The Australian ones are suppose to be much hardier than the Jakarta ones.

I have had both. The last two were aussie. They did last longer since the indo's lasted less than 3 months.

Had this one for close to 2 years now have it in shaded area moderate flow and give a squirt every time I feed at least 1 time a day haven't had any issues other than its getting huge. Picture was taken 10 months ago.

The lighting may be a key. I have a mixed tank. Low light areas are created by ledges for plates, chalices, lepto, etc. Elegance get too large for a "created" shaded ledge area. In my tank an area large enough to keep one i consider medium light.

Ya just gotta find the sweet spot with not to much light or flow and feed well along with just stable water and shouldn't be issue

Seems like im not the only one who loves this coral but stays a safe distance away lol!

had 3 and each time they had full and beautiful extension, but about three months later out of no where they shrink and die. thinking about giving it another try.

Older thread but,....

Back in the 90's, we had a beautiful pink & purple for 7 years. Started out with 3" body, when we got out of the hobby he was around 15". Two Skunk clowns hosted it, very cute !

Our lighting was 4-VHO's and he was about half way down on the rockscape, in a 75g tank.
We never fed him, and he had great green symbo algae.

We never had an issue with him. No back in the hobby, we have one on our list for our 125g build.
At first, we planned on using LED lighting, so we had no idea on what to expect with this lighting, but we are now going with T-5/LED 6 puck lighting system.

Have any of you tried both LED and T5's,...with what results ?
(Halides also)
