I figured id give this beautiful coral its Spotlight due to the large confusion that surrounds it. To some at a quick glance depending which you are more familiar with it looks like an Alveopora, because similarities are amazing. One easy way to help in identification is the Alveopora will have 12 tentacle like petals where as the Goniopora will have 24. This coral seems to be a little more demanding but is an eye catcher for sure. I would love to see everyone's pic's of their Goniopora's and have a little info on what makes your coral thrive best. For a comparison I have provided some pictures that shows the differences and similarities. Thanks guys and enjoy!

Here is my pretty lady

How she looked ...a while ago

How she looks lately. I can't tell if she has lost polyps because she is on a stand now and not in the sand. But she keeps on truckin'!

Come on everyone I know we got some more Goni owners

I just scored a rainbow goni from aquasd during their recent live sale....I will post a pic as soon as I get it...(Thursday)...I'm super stoked...had a pink goni in my old setup and had to sell it with the setup....awesome coral and always told me when my parameters were out of line!
