Ok, made this out of things laying around in my lab, aka garage. Being into nps corals, instead of paying $275 for an auto syringe, came up with this. Hope someone here can perfect it.

Here's what's needed.
Air pump
Timer 1 second timing cycle
Fittings
Cord to solenoid valve 110v, n.o.
Syringe
Resin casting urethane 2 min harding,15 minute cure. Ebay.

Took me less than hour, to get it operating.

Fin, done. Here's video.
First, nice things about this design
Don't have to worry if it fails no water flooding, damage.

And check out my other thread

Enjoy

How much accuracy do you lose by taking the valve out and just hooking the syringe to the air pump and having the pump on the timer?

If I recall I tried direct pump with syringe, problem was residual air would move plunger, when pump off. But now not sure. Gonna try that soon. Thanks

That is quite nifty! How many times a day do you have it feed?

Today been trying to fine tune. When up and running coral food will be concentrated, so for my total gallons with dt, refugium, etc...1 ml per hour.
