Can water be too clean for lps

Can be if your not feeding them enough.
Don't think so, issue sometimes is when the water is way to clear, with use of excessive carbon(Rox did it for me) the light penetration in the water is higher, and can bleach easier corals. Other than that I don't believe so.
Im talking phosphate wise
Just curious what you recommend feeding, I've heard good things about reef roids.
If they'll take direct feeding they'll do fine even in an ULNS tank. If they don't take direct feeding, they can still take very clean water just not totally stripped of phosphates/nitrates. I feed a blend of reef chili/reef roids/goniopower. However, most of my LPS are not too interested in that. They prefer direct feedings of either mysis or spectrum pellets.
