LPS zooxanthellae

lol. Yes! I never would have guessed that at 1% its actually good enough for the corals lol. I`m guessing once I raise my light height to about 6in I`m going to need to increase intensity. Would raising the Blue channel be more beneficial? I hear that blue tends to encourage more growth.

Corals right now dont like the change of light, but I`m sure they`ll actually prefer the correct intensity light soon. the only things I noticed growing well without any bleaching was my fuzzy green birdsnest, my an-acropora, and my Orange-ish monti, and my candy cane coral. things like my encrusting seasons greetings monti started to turn white a bit but luckily the polyps were still out and bright red. Frogspawn should hopefully make a good recovery.

Adjust it to your eye really. The white channel is actually prettty blue. Around 10,000 kelvin or so.

If you need to acclimate , now you can easily by dropping the intensity buy a 100 par or so (6000 lux ish)

Yea, I’m a coral and bug and Weird stuff guy. I have some fish I like but ...

Keep an eye on the coral like you have been. Yea , you may need to move the light up , you’ll actually get some better spread , they also sell a diffuser wide lens thing for that light.

Surprisingly, with just 1 B.B., the spread already hits a bit more than 50% of the entire tank. Its a 5ft long tank. I`ll build something to hang the lights on. But for now, They`re placed on pieces of wood laying on top of the tank, lol. I know its scary as hell to hear that.

Fav corals at the moment. You`re just looking at 50% of the tank. the other half has no B.B. yet lol. Hence, I need to build something to hang them on first.

You’re welcome!! Good luck !

Another tip, if you have to keep it low , you can pull the lenses and get better spread, it’ll also lower the par a bit.
Most of the bbs are meant to hang at about 10 12in It’s kinda high.

I can possibly to 10in. I tend to sleep behind the tank. I sleep on the living room so the tank acts like a wall lol. In a few days i`ll probably update you on the coral`s "feelings".

Okay so some time has passed, so far I noticed my LPS grow really well. Specifically my torch has took off in size. My green birdsnest is growing well. The ONLY problems that I had was that my Seasons Greetings (encrusting) monti turned brown and the red monti bleached. Not sure why but I salvaged a bit to start another colony.

Glad to hear!
