So I am trying some new ideas out to lower nitrate phos or anything else bad in my system.

Now I know live rock is suppost to help lower that stuff so. Being a bio load

I was givin a brs two part reactor and I already have a carbon and phos one so I have no need to use it in the normal way.

Here's my thoughts. I can put all rubble rock inside of the brs two part with a STRONG pump for good flow and this should boost my tanks health, and hopefully lower my phos and anything else to zero....

What do u guys think!!!

If it fits. Maybe the marinepure ceramic balls. I've heard nothing but good things. Essentially, you'd want no detrius to get into the reactor, adjustable flow (never done it so you'd have to see which works better, slow or fast flow, more or less contact time) maybe block light too. Post pictures! :) we all love pictures

Not unless you can put 20-30lbs in it. It will be just like running a bioball filter.
More Live Rock in lbs into the system, not ounces.

It wouldn't be the plastic bio balls. They are like man made rocks with tons of surface area. All he'd have to do is keep any detritus from getting in the area so they won't be a nitrate/phosphate trap. Maybe build something that will allow the balls to be lifted and the area be blasted with flow to knock anything loose.

What makes this better than dropping them in the sump. It makes no difference and your just wasting money running another pump.

I just don't have the space. On one side is my filter sock carbon reactor skimmer, return pump in the center and on the other is a fug... The fug is full of miracle mud and cheato from the mud to the top, and I don't want to put rock in there...

In an ideal world I would have a 55 gallon drum that I could fill with live rock. I would plumb a return from my sump into the bottom of the barrel and have an overflow at the top to go back into the sump, and that would be all the bio I would need, but I can't I live in an apartment right now...

You should not add this set up to your system. Its just another type of mechanical filter, and its not needed. With the proper amount of Live Rock in your tank, this will take care of business for you. Its just like adding a bioball filter to your system, and its just going to cause you headaches.
