I like to feed Reef Frenzy at least every other day however, it causes my skimmer to overflow. Does anyone else have this issue when feeding this food? I keep my skimmer and circulation pump off while feeding for an hour. I let the food circulate in the display for an hour. This gives plenty of time for fish, inverts, and corals to get their food. Circulation pump turns on after an hour and skimmer turns on a minute later. The skimmer doesn’t foam like normal, I get big watery bubbles. After 30 minutes or so the skimmer returns to normal but the collection cup is usually overflowing.

Anyone else have this problem with that food? Should I add more delay to my skimmer?

I am running an aquamaxx ws-1 but I also had this problem with the larger eshopps psk-100.

I agree that's odd. Reef Frenzy usually doesn't affect my skimmer unless I add selcon, then it doesn't produce anything for several hours.
Has it always done this? Are you adding anything to it?

It’s always done this. Two different skimmers even. It doesn’t happen with other frozen foods. I am perplexed too.

My skimmer used to go nutts after feeding PE mysis shrimp which was probably from all the extra oils and stuff. However, never had this happen with LRF reef frenzy, which i consider the cleanest frozen food on the market. I would not worry about it skimmers just removing organics before they break down so let it be.

I’d love to except my skimmer cup overflows.

That is strange. Even with Selcon my skimmer drops in level and I lose the thick foam for a hour or so, with any food i feed including LRS.

How much food are you adding that you let it circulate for an hour? I feed LRS at least 3 to 4 times a day and it's gone withing minutes. No issues with skimmer.

this is odd. I have not experienced this with Reef Frenzy in my tank and I feed it every other day. I also use garlic guard with it.

Mine goes crazy also! But I shut it off for about 30 min. Then everything is fine afterwards

Mine used to go crazy after adding filter floss, I think they have a mind of their own
