I've been using reef frenzy for almost 2 years. I switched to the nano frenzy a while back because that's all my lfs had in stock when I went. Then about a month ago all they had was fish frenzy so I went with that. It was making my skimmer go crazy, filling up the cup in a matter of hours. So I went to get something else and I was finally able to get reef frenzy again... it's doing the same thing. Even with rinsing, my skimmer starts over skimming. Which is going to be an issue for my tank sitter to deal with, as I'm going out of town next week. I have two questions. 1- has anyone else noticed this? I've never had this problem until recently. 2- Is it possible to pre rinse the food, then freeze again? I would rather not have to ask my tank sitter to empty the skimmer cup every or every other day while I'm gone. Please chime in if you feed reef frenzy and aren't (or are) having this same issue. Thanks!

I buy 2 packs a week and have not noticed any issues. I would not rinse it as you would then remove all the the smaller size particles. Can you pause your circulation pump while you feed? Or maybe adjust your skimmer while your gone.

Sometime last year I had to start rinsing LRS before use because it was a cloudy mess. I was hoping it was just a bad batch but I'm not sure. I had stocked up and am almost ready to buy again.

I'm not too worried about that. All it does is feed vermited snails anyways. I can but I want to make it as easy as possible on the sitter plus I've never had this issue until recently

Every time I have fed LRS it made my skimmer overflow. I switched to Rods food and never looked back

I've always wanted to try Rods but can never seem to find it except online. And I'm not paying shipping prices for frozen food!

I feed exclusively LRS and never had any problem with skimmer and I never rinse since the small particles are for all the small eaters and eve LPS corals. I also shut off pumps since I have a regal angelfish that is such a slow eater needs to it almost still to catch to eat. But I take feed mode off only for a few minutes

However I have been wondering if foods are thawing and maybe spoiling in these transit delays. I started thinking this when I went to get it out of freezer at local fish store and the pack was mushy and asked why. Wonder if some spoilage causes that but I really don’t know for sure!

Me too. It's all I've used. Never had a problem until last month now my skimmer goes nuts. If you rinse the food in a net it doesn't rinse away any of the particles. They bind up with the larger ones

The same thing happened at 2 of the lfs's in my area. Minneapolis. So I don't get how they thawed. But they did.

I would like to know if its possible to thaw, rinse, and re freeze. I could see that having some issues though

i think the freezing process degrades the quality of the food as we don't flash freeze at home generally speaking

Pretty sure I don't have the equipment for flash freezing! I suppose I had better start looking for another brand. Bummer. I liked LRS

I think if thawed and refrozen quickly it would be fine. As other post it may get mushier with refreshing but still good. I know this because I thawed fish I caught for myself and I ate it later. Still edible but loses its texture. I don’t think fish care though

Are you draining it ?

Btw I also put chunks of LRS reef frenzy in RODI water in refrigerator for my fish sitter to pull out and dump in individually as I didn’t trust them over feeding. Worked for me

Rod's and LRS both ****** foaming for a while for me after feeding. You are throwing away money rinsing these premium foods.

I guess that word is blocked because too many people use it in a derogatory way. I should have said slow down apparently.
