LTA Advice

[Hoodstream]

Hello.
Few days ago I got this LTA from Petco for really cheap. I usually never buy from them but they had this thing marked as a Haitian and I got it for $20. Anyways when I bought it the poor lad was floating around the tank no anchor. Now he seems to be doing great. I don’t actually have any problems just want to know recommended suggestions on keeping them, advice, warning signs to look out for etc.


He actually looks scrunched up rn in the first two pics because I just fed him a little piece of shrimp.

Provide moderate light and water flow
. Too much flow and they keep moving
Too much light and they burrow somewhere to hide
Feed 2-3x a week dropping mysis shrimp on their tips which they pull into their core

Always appreciate your knowledge. I’ve never seen a dead or dying anenome. Obviously with testing i could maintain water quality but any advice on what to look out for when sick or dying? I’ve read spilled guts but I feel like my anenomes mouth is too covered to even see.

Dying Ben will shrivel up, turn itself over and foot will start to look like a head of cauliflower not to mention cloudiness and smell forming

Marked as if from Haitian? I wonder if they mixed up mens? Haitian Pink tips or a Condy? You got a good deal though. Congats. Lighting besides supplemental feeding is tops! What lights do you have?

So I actually stopped in just to look with my fiancé we were on a date that ended early and just wanted to visit our shopping mall, stop in and see this guy just floating wildly throughout the tank marked as Haitian and I’m like that’s not a Haitian that is and point it out to my fiancé. In the tank they have labeled as LTA is a Haitian so I flag someone down and I go “yeah I’ll take that Haitian right there.” Pointing to the LTA and the kid doesn’t even question it kinda seemed a little dopey but that’s ok I don’t judge and writes the sku for the Haitian on it. Get up to the register and the cashier says “wow that’s a huge anenome!” And doesn’t even question it rings up for $23 something I think with tax and we just left. I got a steal but I don’t blame the kids at all I think management should better train employees and I’m also kinda a jerk because I didn’t say anything, but hey I’m sure I’ll be back to drop more money.

Hilarious!!! Not to mention the tiny Haitian pink tip in the last aquarium labeled Long Tentacle Anemone for $129.00 !!!!
