So my anemone has seen better days. I've been monitoring it closely and it has been moving frequently and been quite closed recently. Here is the dilema I am going on vacation early next week so I wanted to move him to a QT so incase he goes while I am gone he doesnt nuke the tank. It is also a much smaller tank so I would be able to control and better work with him. It has been established longer etc. I have a few corals like rics and duncans in the QT at the moment so I wouldnt want it to nuke them too if possible.

So to my questions, 1 how can I get my LTA to detach itself? The last residence is on a rock and it is DEEP in there. I tried blowing a powerhead at it but unfortunately I cannot sit there and watch it for hours to wait for it. Does anyone have any tips so I can get it to the QT? And secondly if it perishes in the QT will it nuke the corals I have in there now? I am gone for only 5-6 days but I can move them to DT if really needed to be sure.

Thanks

If you can find the base of the foot, an ice cube or spoon that has been in the freezer for a while will sometimes make the foot let go.

unfortunately the base is so far into this rock I can only see the top of the anem

You may have to move it and the rock then, you can't really force them to com out of a hole.

I was actually able to flip the rock up into another position and it detached when I was able to come back down and look it was attaching somewhere else already but I tried the icecube right away and it let go. So thanks a bunch I would never have known about the icecube :)

Lastly should I move the corals in the QT to DT? or would they last through a LTA demise? the QT is only 5ish gallons so it would be worse if it died there than in the DT which is 55-60 gallons of total volume
