Lubeck’s build thread

quick update I was feeding tonight and noticed a baby sea serpent out not moving. I looked in the back of the tank and noticed a second one also has died. Everything else looked good

I checked my specific gravity and it was a little high at 1.027. But phos and trates were low. Not sure what caused it?

Its been a while. Unfortunately I have a caulerpa in the display. Had to remove a large rock covered in it but found it spread to a couple other rocks.

Still doing 50% WC each week. I’ve added another few lbs of live rock in hopes to out compete the Dino’s I removed About 1/3 of the fine oolite sand and added some special grade. I really like the new rock structure. Lots ,more room for the fish to hide and corals.

I will take some pics when lights come back on.

I just dosed my tank with 2ml of hydrogen peroxide. Going to dose two more days and see what happens to the dinos.

How did the peroxide work for you?
good question, I dosed for three days and then left to snorkel in Maui for 10 days ! My house sitter said it wasn’t too bad but will need to wait and see. I can say that before I left I did a couple water changes and the Dino’s would come back within a day. I think if I was able dose for 7 full days it will take care if it. I will update over the weekend.

My neon goby has slipped back to the back chambers for the last few days. I drained the water down to 1/2” but he wouldn’t come out if his hiding spot which is not accessible. I removed the filers so hopefully he will swim back the way he went in. We will see.

tank is coming up on 11 months. It’s been a slow climb and need To just continue regular maintenance and try and get some stability.

I added an emerald crab last weekend so he has been a nice addition. No aggression to the sexy shrimp which is nice.

Unfortunately my return pump shut off sometime in the night. The tank got down to 73 degrees and I ended up losing Walter the wrasse. so bummed. My blenny and the wrasse were buds.
