My aquaclear hob filter has a bit of motor noise. TAnk is leveled and it’s not the lid. Definitely coming from motor assembly. Is there a lubricant I can put on the shaft that is safe to come in contact with my tank water? Something I can Find at Menards or similar store???
Thanks

Look in the plumbing section at a hardware store. There is a plumbers silicone that is for use on plumbing parts that will be in contact with the water you drink. So it's non-toxic and it comes in a small container. It's very viscose and slippery, almost like a fine grease. I've used it many time and I've never had any issues.
