I am guessing that you have someone who is willing to foster your dwarf seahorses when you go away? I would love to keep DS but the rigorous daily routine of hatching and enriching live bbs is more than I believe I can do daily longterm. I give away my erectus fry for that reason and they even outgrow that stage, ha ha! My hat is off to you for keeping up with it!

YEs, my dwarfs and erectus have been in”vacation camp” at 2 different reputable seahorses breeders.
I really REALLY care about my seahorses, and who can handled them better than a commercial breeder?
Asking friends, neighbors or family is fine for a few days but, as they aren t hobbyists, they can t see if something is wrong...

Yes, I wished there were someone like that in my area but there is not. :-( My sister is my fish sitter and she had kept seahorses back in the late 80s so she knows saltwater and some specifics on seahorses. I don't want to complicate her fish sitting with hatching and enriching artemia.

Do you sell them or can you recommend someone reputable that sells them? Do you hatch baby brine to feed?? Are the Liliputian variety different than pigmy?
Would like to learn more about them. I had a pair of the larger ones for a while and rehomed them when we moved.

“Pygmy”, “dwarfs “, “Lilliputians”, “pixies” are different names for H. Zosterae!
There is other dwarfs species but not available on the market
I m not aware of any zosterae breeder right now in the USA. PJ reef and Seahorse connections are working on it. Seahorse source used to breed them but don t do it anymore.
I hatch bbs for feeding and I give some Tisbe pods, sometimes wild zooplankton.
I never sold them yet, I gave them or trade...
Lately I read an article (thanks to natural blue) about shipping and i m considering it... just want to make sure first if I can legally sell them, if I need to be registered or something like that. I don t know laws in the USA concerning it, as I m quite new in the states.
