So, I had never used lugols before (I used brightwell) , and decided to dip a favia frag, and some zoas including my bloodshot and hallucination. I followed a guide on here from 2011, where the guy stated he used enough solution to make lps "barely visible", and zoas "pitch black". I went for 20 mins on the favia, and 45 on the zoas as instructed. Then I washed them off with rodi. The results? My favias flesh completely dissolved and died, and my zoas haven't opened for 2 days, and look pretty rough. The side of the bottle recommends 4 drops per gallon of water, probably what I should have done. I just wanted to post this because I don't want to see this happen to anybody else. I don't fault the gentleman, or his article, or even myself. (He used solution from cvs fyi) More experience is the price I paid, but now I know better at least. Be careful folks, and happy reefing!

Oh wow. That’s a shame. Lugols is strong stuff. I only use a few drops in a dip. Not sure where those instructions came from but definitely don’t use them again.

It was a recommended article on here I believe. And yeah, definitely not doing that again! I think battery acid in that quantity would have had lesser effects lol..
