Guys i had a nice colony of Hyper Jubilee 30 plus polyps. They were looking a bit down so decided to give them a Lugols dip. Well i dipped it a small specimen container and added fair amount in there let it sit fir 10-15 min. Put it back in tank. Next day thdy were covered in slime. Second day they were gone. Colony lost. What did i do wrong? Is this a dip that is to be used for zoas? Def not using it anymore. What should i use to bring them back if they looking down?

Lugols is pretty strong stuff. You only need a couple of drops. Might have been too strong for them. I've never dosed it that strong, so I can't say for certain, but that would be my guess.

ive used it several times on zoas, no issues. I used a mix ratio i found on an older forum, either thereeftank or 3reef. it was only a few drops per gallon.

The Lugols I use has instructions for a coral dip at maybe 20? drops per gallon -- so when I use a smaller container, typically its only a few drops based on the actual water volume. My guess is it that it might have been too strong. Dipped zoas recently and they are looking a bit better

Oh man i over did it. I put like 2 full of those droppers. Saw on YouTube some guy put a whole bunch but not lugols he used regular one from pharmacy. Very costly mistake!
