How many lumens does it take to light a tank enough to support sps?

The reason is, i saw a stick of white leds in wal mart, and 1 stick produces 185 lumens, i was wondering if this light would be enough to even support coral life?

I am not to good with lumens but I believe you need about 5000-8000 lumens to be able to keep LPS..

LOL.. i was wondering because..this thing is $20..i didnt buy it

Thanks

with the lumen meter my 250w coralvue 14ks with lumenbright reflectors puts out 26,500 lumen, 4 inches under water.

it is better to get a par meter and get readings of tanks that have good coral growth and match the pare reading. I do know from my tank you can have to much light. it really depends on the coral you want to put in your tank. I have some sps that like low light and I have some that like really high light.
