Hello, I'm new to this site, and this hobby, and I'm hoping to get some help. My frogspawn coral has been in my tank for about 2 months and will not expand. It opened maybe 50% at first but after a couple days it went in and stayed in. I have since moved it to higher light, lower flow, but it has not helped. A few days ago i noticed 2 vermetid snails on the stem and removed them. There is also a lump on the stem that i cannot identify. It's very hard and will not come off without cutting it (dremel??). Could the lump be effecting the frogspawn?

36 gallon cube with 15 gallon sump
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: <5
All other parameters are tested weekly by my LFS and are well within acceptable ranges.

Thanks for your time.

Pics would help.
Also there's no value for nitrates
If it's not easily recognizable, we will probably ask for calcium alk and mag readings

Wow...thanks for the fast reply. I added the nitrate value (<5) and some pics. I dont know exactly what the lighting is...but i do know that it is the cadlite LED coral setup from about 5 years ago. I'll be going to the shop tomorrow to get my weekly tests done (I know i should just give in and get my own). I use RODI and perform weekly 20% water changes. I recently switched from instant ocean to Fritz RPM salt.

I agree it looks ok. I dont think its dying because it's not melting or losing tissue...i just wish it was happier. It's looked like this for a couple months, so I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what. Thanks for the reply.

They like lower light and lower flow rate. Can you edit the photo with an arrow pointing to the lump ?

Sorry i didnt get back sooner. I got one more vermetid snail off the stem and i adjusted my powerheads so the frogspawn barely sways in the current. It's doing much better. Thanks for the all the responses.
