I just got my first bucket of fritz salt and it is pretty lumpy. Is this normal for Fritz?

It is making me reconsider my switching to it. My current salt seems to work but leaves a lot of residue in the mixing station. I was hoping this would be cleaner... anyone use fritz and does it mix clean?

Nope, this has been stored incorrectly.
I’m on my 18th case of Fritz over two years.
Very happy with this salt.

Mixed great, don’t heat it, just mix it for 2-4 hours and she’s clean and crystal clear.

The redline mixes to exactly the levels of Red Sea Pro, with slightly higher magnesium at 1400ppm.

The blue box mixes to Red Sea Blue, funny how that happens.

Both come in a box, in a bag well sealed.

i have went through about 15-16 of the 200g box i get the 4 bag version never seen it clump like that though. i also never got it in the bucket, so not sure what that usually looks like. it mixes crystal clear for me in 15-20 minutes looks just like the rodi before i added the salt. never had a issue with it myself.

Maybe a dumb question but is it still safe to use with the clumps?

If the clumps are still soft & break apart easily when pressed it should be fine. I would definitely check your ALK before adding it to the tank just to be sure it's spot on. I do heat mine as I add it to the tank immediately after mixing. Fritz recommends the water be between 70-75 degrees when mixing, so I add two lg power heads about 10,000 gph with both, set the temp controller for heaters to 75. when at temp I add my salt, let it mix till clear, check salinity if good check ALK if good add to the tank.
