Do AI lights have a built in lunar cycle mode, or is it just super super low percent of blue/white light?

any lunar cycle on any light is always a super super low mix of blue and white

hmm okay. but I've heard if you're interested in spawning than there (i think if i remember correctly) to be cycles of the moon, or just imitated lunar lights?

Yeah corals spawn along with the moon cycle, usually in October. That being said, I know a Red Sea 50 can match lunar cycles (it changes light power percentage based on the phase) but idk if AI can do it. I’d be shocked if it couldn’t though.

Depends on what you want. For soft and lps corals, sure. For sps, I would upgrade to 2 Hydra 32s if you swear by AI

Alright, later down the line im planning for a bit of a mixed reef tank, currently my light is 4 48" T5 bulbs, 2 white and 2 blue bulbs

If it’s an ATI T5 fixture, there’s no need to switch lights. T5s are amazing lights

Yeah those are really good for growing, however you can’t program a lunar cycle

Agreed. The sound of photons hitting the water will drive you crazy. Better to look for a quieter light with a gravity generator to encourage moonlight behavior in corals, and inverts.

Bearing gone out on it? I have one of those and it’s quieter than most. At worst drop the 5-10 dollars and swap to a ball bearing fan.
