So heres my first cube build, this build should move pretty quickly since I'm using a lot of components I already have.

Equipment:
Oceanic 30g Cube
JBJ Viper 150w HQI
Octopus 160(?)

Plans:
Hoping to have some nice shelf rock for a bonsai type rock structure(s). LPS and Softies mostly. Few maxi-minis, etc.

More pics and build progress as it comes along....

Nice! Can't wait to see the pics!!

Tank has been resealed with black silicone and is holding water! Going to have the tank drilled this weekend, then its stand building time! The plan is to have a stand that has some ledge space to set stuff on. I was thinking 3" around all sides.

Pic of the progress: (ignore the sweat on the glass, its friggin hot here!)

Have a big frag swap this weekend, hope to get a bunch of good stuff to fill this badboy. More pics after the aquascape.

Nice . I love those tanks . I got one upstairs in storage waiting to be a frag tank... whenever I get around to it . LOL

nice. what size did you drill the hole?
nice halo 3 collectors edition Xbox 360! i got 1 too. i am missing the orange HD.

The overflow is for a 1" line, the return is for 3/4" return line.

Some updates: Got the tank scaped to my girlfriend's liking (this is technically her tank). The two rocks on the left will be pulled from the tank or cut down a tad as the shelf rock is too big.

I also got a killer deal on a Lumenarc Mini Stealth 3 pendant, 250w Coralvue Ballast and a Megachrome 14.5k bulb for $175. So the Viper will likely be use for a possible frag tank setup. Along with a Turboflotor 1000 from a friend for a good deal.

Also picked up my first two fish that have been in QT for a week or so. Chinese Zebra Goby and a Misbar clown. The girlfriend also picked out some corals for the tank including an ORA Green Polyp Birdsnest, Yellow/Green funghia, blue cloves, rhodactis mushrooms and LE Sunset Monti.

On to the pic:

looks great! I just got the exact same tank this week and cant wait to take the hole saw to it! Id love to do a DIY LED pendant over mine and was wondering how happy you were with your light. What types of corals do you have in there?

thanks

Wow that's sweet! That lighting looks really cool. Is it expensive? What kind of animals do you plan to keep in there?

So far so good. Having some issues with LPS/SPS, but I think it might be a water issue. Will post updated pics later this week.

Looks good. What are you doing for flow? Are you noticing any dead spots or challenges with the cube shape? Getting started setting up a 45 cube and am a little anxious about that.
