Lyertail anthias question

So I have a male and 4 females in my harem. Ive noticed my male has been really mean to them. He chases them all over the tank and they have took to hiding from him. Is this normal? They get fed enough and multiple times a day.

Yes, anthias are the "cattle dog" equivalent of the reefing world. Herding seems to just be their nature... (I also have both a cattle dog and anthias, and their behavior is identical).

Ah okay cool! I didnt know if he needed more females and was acting out, I heard the more females the better for him! His name is Nickel like nickelback the band cause the lead singer is a bleep to girls haha

I've got a male marcia's anthias and a pair of female (I think) lyretail anthias, and he's always herding them. He does this manuever where he darts up to the surface and plunges down again (sometimes freaking the other fish out).
