Below is my new Aquarium Build. The only thing I have purchased is the tank, so everything else can change. Would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

Livestock: My goal is to do the basic fish/lps/mushroom/softies/etc to start but be able to expand into SPS down the road, when I'm ready.

150g 60x24x24 SC Aquarium: rimless, eurobrace

• Synergy Reef 16” Shadow Overflow (bean animal)
• 2 returns, on at each end of tank

Stand: DIY: rustic cedar siding/fencing look.

Controller: Apex (it’s so expensive, but I like high tech and some automation=Undecided. But if I get it it would affect aspects of build listed below)

Main pump: potentially used from LFS or:

• Jebao DCP-6500 1720gph (can do 10x if needed)

Skimmer: Coral Vue Octopus 210g

Sump: either pre-built used from LFS or:

• Used 40g breeder
• Fijicube Sump Baffle Kit
• Fuge light: Mingdak $20 led I have from FW
• 2 x 250w Heater w/ITC-308 controller

Chiller: either used/reconditioned from LFS or:

• JBJ 1/5hp DBE-150 w/pump

RODI: not sure how many stages I need yet, but I have house plumbing accessible at the tank, so that will be advantageous.

ATO: still figuring this out, but 20g? RO tank in stand (have no idea what weekly evap will be)

Quarantine: I'd like to have a continually running 10/20g tank within the stand if it can fit.

Lighting: 3x Kessil A360WE Tuna Blue w/controller.

Flow: Ecotech Vortech MP40

Dosing: I think I’m going to hold of to start.

Great start but I would not put your QT tank in the stand, you will risk disease transfer through aerosol transfer. Your QT tank should be a minimum of 10 feet from your display.

Duly noted. The QT will be located in my 18mos old daughter's bathroom until she becomes a teenager.

Update: I'm spending money and accumulating stuff. Sitting in my living room waiting for me to build my stand:

The electrician is scheduled to come out in a couple weeks to split off some existing outlets to it's own 20amp circuit. Woot!

I purchase the wood for my stand on Saturday and ideally start building. Will update with photos then.

(Am currently filling my brain with DSB/SSB info. My tank is 24" tall, do I really want to lose 6" of that for DSB leaving me with only 18" of display, minus the 1.5" or so at the top because of the eurobrace/shadow overflow so really it's 16.5-ish? I'm currently leaning toward an SSB of 2-3")

So much from my original post has changed, but this photo is where I am now.

• Tank is fish-less cycling now.
• Have to build my screen top.
• Will be replacing my Synergy Overflow with an EMS (after much thought and discussion)
• Skimmer still needs broken in.
• Went with GHL Profilux P4 instead of Apex.
• Still have to set up my ATO through the P4.
• Have to decide what goes in the refugium; I'm thinking rubble for the substrate, not sure on plants.
• Still have some final trim on the tank construction.
• Waiting on cables to connect Tunze 6105s to P4.
• More cable management.
• Start percolating on livestock.

As always I welcome expertise and opinions.
