Lymphocystis effects on fish's lifespan

Even though lymphocystis is not immediately harmful to fish, does in have any other effects on fish like increasing susceptibility to other diseases or shortening their life span?

Even though lymphocystis is not immediately harmful to fish, does in have any other effects on fish like increasing susceptibility to other diseases or shortening their life span?

Not that I’ve ever noticed, once it has resolved, it seems pretty benign overall.
While the infection itself is active, there is a slight risk of secondary bacterial infection if the nodules are removed (never a good idea) or get knocked off by the fish’s activity.
