Last Tuesday I purchased a small yellow tang from a local LFS. The next morning I noticed a cauliflower like growth on it’s fin. It has got a bit bigger and have noticed a couple other spots on fins. I stopped in the LFS today and they asked me to bring the fish in and they would cut the spots off. From the stuff I have read lympho will go away with a good diet and clean water. Wanted to get some other opinions?

Looks to be Lympho. Removing it isn't a good idea and could cause a infection. It should go away on its own.

I agree...looks like Lymph -- good clean water parameters, balanced diet, and reduced stress should make it go away in time. I wouldn't let the LFS cut on the fish....that's crazy!

Thank you both. I thought it sounded crazy to cut on the fish but he said it would infect other fish. I have read it won’t and will just fall off in time. Will just keep and eye for now. He is eating like crazy and acting fine.

I currently have had a wrasse for four months with lympho. It started as one spot on the dorsal fin, then spread to two other areas on the fish. They have not gone away completely yet, but it has not spread to any other fish in the system.

This is what worked for me when it showed in QT after copper treatment. It was stubborn. I tried almost everything. Hasn’t been back since the fish made it to my display.

Thanks, appreciate the info. Is there any difference nutritionally from the green to red seaweed?

Not really sure. I’ve read here red increases the immune system
