Lymphocystis or Flukes maybe?

Purple firefish has something hanging out on its gill plate. Only spot on fish, tail looks to be a bit damaged as well.


Today was my first real chance to examine the fish since realistically Thursday. They were fed every day except Saturday. Its not unusual for them to go 36-48 hours between feedings.


White growth/abnormality on gill plate.


Could it be Lymphocystis or a fluke(s)?

Could be lympho, but that normally starts on the fins. Not to say it can't start on the body or by the gills, but infection is my first impression. Are you running any meds at the moment?

On day 14 of copper power. I only have one fish QT at the moment so I normally run 30 days of therapeutic copper levels then two rounds of prazi pro.

Currently feeding a mix of pellets daily and every other day feeding frozen brine soaked in selcon.

A bit hard to tell from the pictures. Is the growth cauliflower like or cottony looking in texture?
