Lymphocystis?

I have had this fish in qt for about 2 weeks. Its developed a large fuzzy white patch on one side and a couple dots on ends of its fins. I dont think its ick or velvet because its really only on one side of its body.

Fish eats and swims fine. Good appetite.

Is it Lymphocystis?

The stuff in the tail may well be lymph but the stuff on the side does not look at all like lymph. Perhaps brook or velvet? Doesn't look like either but it's not good whatever it is.

The spots on her tail look to me as though they might be lymph, but the patch on her side is a bit more worrisome. That looks like it could be an abrasion, which might have happened at any time, and can easily become a doorway for a bacterial infection. If it does prove to be, a wide-spectrum antibiotic program should help.

I think you are dealing with a bacterial infection here. There may be some lympho involved, but I'm betting the side there is an infection. I would suggest an acriflavin dip followed by antibiotics.

I agree, I think I would treat with an acriflavine bath followed by kanaplex/furan-2 and metroplex. The antibiotics would address infection and the metroplex would help if it is something like brook.

On hand I have Rally (acriflavin), BiFuran+, and Paraguard. I'll have Metro in a couple of days.

I'll do the acriflavin bath now but how should i proceed after that? Paraguard and BiFuran+ have anti bacterial properties

The Paraguard seems to be something I'd probably use like Rally, in a bath. BiFuran sounds like a good start toward a wide-spectrum antibiotic treatment. Use according to the directions on the package.

Agree with above. Antibiotics will help with the infections, especially if added to food. Rally bath is good to prevent bacterial infection, also praguard is claimed to cure or relief the fish from parasitic/bacterial/fungal/virus infections. I like to dose paraguard directly to QT tank as anyways it will degrade within 24 hours.
