Anyone have any info on the life expectancy of lyretail anthias. I have a 3 year old female lyretail anthias that has been doing great until about 2 weeks ago I noticed she was not as active in front of the tank and spending more time hidden in the rock work. I have had the same fish in the aquarium for at least 3 years and my reef tank is 4 + years old. I just fed the tank and she didn't even come out. Other fish and corals have been doing fine only thing that I changed was to increase the ALK from 8 to 10 (have been trying something different) doubt the ALK increase has anything to do with it. Only thing I can think of is old age.

Thanks

I google it and read basically 4-6 years when feed multiple times a day, boy that is not a long lived fish.

Thanks

Yeah, so I guess that would make mine around the 4 + year mark for age I would guess.

They are like the hummingbirds of the reef. I have four and they are crazy active and fast. Not shy at all and anytime I toss even a bread crumb in the tank they are quick to strike. They love the open water column searching for food has it floats past them. Then they dart back alone the reef wall. Pretty cool fish and affordable more or less.
