I got a lyretail anthias last week. Eating normal in the first couple days but stop eating fews days ago. Start swimming vertical. What should I do now. Should I treat GC INTO the water???

Can you post a pic. Can’t really say without seeing it.

Any visible signs of disease, or swim bladder disorder.

Post a pic, maybe tank info, how long you had it and other tank mates, and tag Reefsquad

Here is how my fish us acting

Sorry, can’t open it on my iPad to see

Here is another link

Does it do this on purpose ? Does it swim normally when its not doing this ? Mine do this all the time.

That almost looks like how wrasses swim when they have a spinal injury. Hopefully some of the real experts will chime in.

Ge able to swim normal, but the first couple days, he swam around the tank and start doing that until now. If he got spinal injury, is he able to swim normal??? I asked this question because when i poke him, he swim normal

Bump just got an anthia that swims like this, however mine has a slightly swollen stomach. Mine also goes to the top of the water like it's gulping air :(

@vetteguy53081 you have any idea?
May be swim bladder. try medicated food and/or add PraziPro to tank. The most prominent sign of swim bladder disease is a fish that is unable to swim normally. The fish looks like it is having problems staying balanced, or upright in the water. Sometimes, fish with swim bladder disease seem to bob back and forth in the water, darting down and then bobbing back up.
Causes are typically:
  • Bacterial infection
  • Parasitic infection
  • Stress/rapidly changing water parameters
  • Poor water quality
