I started off with a group of 6 lyretail females, one turned male, killed others off one by one. Now I'm down to a single male lyretail. He's somewhat large and has an aggressive tendency toward other fish as well but not to the extent he was showing toward other lyretails.

I wanted to try a group of Dispars; will the lyretail go after them due to similarities?

I've only kept a full male Lyretail once. Not a big fan.

Most likely it will beat them up to, one by one, unless your tank is yuuge or you add 11 dispars at the same time.

I caught the male also lock jawing with my midas blenny. Traded him in after that

Yea lyretails do that.. Bartletts are another anthias that can be hard to keep in groups because they can all turn male and kill each other off..

I have kept lyretails and ignitus together with no issues. Ignitus are very similar to dispars.
Actually mixing them allowed me to keep a female lyretail. I also kept a male Bartlett with them..

Male lyretails can get pretty large and aggressive though and mine was a smaller male yet at the time.

That said Ignitus and dispars are not too hard to keep once through quarantine. For some reason the first few weeks can be rough but after that they are pretty hardy..
They are easier to feed than some other anthias and may only eat live or frozen at first. I even got some on too dried food. Bartletts and lyretails are by far the easiest anthias though.
They do require more feedings than a lyretail but not as much as some of the other anthias.
