I alternate to give them something different in their mundane lives, but I wonder if there is any benefit either way. Curious to know what others do?

I leave them on - so that the food disperses thoroughout the tank - and thus all the fish get 'a chance'. if I'm giving flake food - I tend to wet it some (by holding it under the tank water) - so that it won't float into the overflow...

I usually use about a few ml of water to defrost the cube of frozen food. After defrosting I pour that water into the tank with flow on (it usually has some food particles in it) and wait 5 minutes for the corals feeding response to kick in. I turn off the flow and use a snipped pippet to drop some in broadcast style for the fish and then baste the food toward corals. Wait 4 minutes or so and turn the pumps back on. The pump on/off done via alexa.

Ever since I got a regal angelfish I turn everything off. He is a super passive eater. He will not chase anything and also likes the bigger pieces. However once he gets a bit or 2 pumps go on and distributes though out tank. He only takes a bite or 2 anyway before calling it quits. Lol
