Wait wait wait hold everything. I read in a hundred places there's no such thing as an instant cycle
So does that mean all those reefs and frag tanks and fish and jelly displays showed up three weeks early and rotted a bunch of shrimp in place, all very carefully timed and planned to be fully ready instantly by the first day of the show? When somebody writes in a cycling article there is no such thing as skipping a cycle, then we must infer there is no bending that rule so someone could sustain $20K in frags all in one tank anything shy of a month ramp up.
What gives? Are cycling articles out of date and constantly not addressing the difference between living and nonliving surfaces and what actions they permit?? Or maybe it only works for conventions. There's no biological possibility of moving from a pet store to home without three weeks and rotting shrimp...but if the receiving tank is in a hotel that's diff
