MACNA vs Reefapalooza

Neither one would be my choice. I was looking at the Jason Fox site, and the tab for "Events" listed a bunch..... one about 15 minutes from me, $5 entry..... then I started looking up more..... I could hit an event every month probably within a couple hours from my house.

Are they as big as "Reefapalooza"? Of course not..... but hundreds on gas/flight/hotel, or walk into a nearby event (or local shop for that matter) with the extra cash in my pocket knowing I can buy that one stupid Zoa poly, or big mature maze colony etc........

If I lived maybe 4 hours from Reefapalooza, then I'd absolutely justify the trip...... from Chi-town? heck no.

I'm in the same boat. We have around 4 in the Dallas area each year and now we have Aquashella. Plus if I'm willing to drive a few hours I can hit the ones in Austin and Houston. The good part about the big shows like Aquashella and Reefapalooza is you get the vendors you would never see at the regular swaps. JF is one of the vendors that hits a lot of the swaps across the country so I do get to see him 3 or 4 times a year. Cherry Corals was at Aquashella this year and that was the first time I had seen them in probably 6+ years at a swap. Plus there were several other vendors I had heard about there that I had never gotten to see such as Joshporksandwic.
