No negative effects. The corals didn't miss a beat.
No acclimation, but with the last water change with Pro, I let the dkh drop slowly to about 8.5. That took about two weeks. Then I did a 50% water change with the blue bucket. The next day I tested alk and it was 8.2, so no drastic swing with the salt change. Now, my alk range is 7.7 - 8.3. With All for Reef, I'm able to keep it in that range between water changes.
The alk isn't super dialed in, but I learned not to go chasing numbers. Husbandry and observation are way more important that chasing numbers. Your tank will tell you what the ideal numbers will be.

Well, I didn’t accomplish today all that I had hoped to. There was a slim chance that the AQQA 265-800 Pump would be delivered today. This is the pump I will use to transport salt water from my Brute mixing bucket into the tank. unfortunately it was not delivered, which means salt water will wait till tomorrow.
Amazon did deliver a pair of nitrile coated work gloves to use in the tank once we have corals, as well as a set of Energizer push-button lights to hang in the top of the cabinet. So that’s great!
I was able to get to the LFS to pick up a Sicce Voyager 2, which I will use in the mixing bucket to agitate the salt water. I also grabbed a float thermometer to throw in the bucket while I’m making salt water.
With the Home Depot buckets now emptied into the Brute bucket, I’ll finish the night by filling up five buckets worth of RODI water to keep on hand. One will be dedicated to the ATO system, the other four reserved for future water changes.

Oh, and before I forget, I was able to create a light schedule on the AI Prime app. Was nice to see the tank lit up even if it’s still empty.
One question for you more experienced folks, after saving the schedule with a unique name, I tried to create a second light schedule to save under a different name, however now it seems that my previously saved schedule is gone.
Where in the app do I look to find my previously saved schedules?

While I’m waiting for my mixing pump to be delivered, I figured I could continue working on the hardware side of things.
My partner purchased these sweet Energizer lights, which I installed today. They even came with a handy little on/off remote!
Reran some of the power cables to tidy things up, too.

Great news! The pump for my mixing bucket arrived, so I was able to get the tank filled!
After mixing the Red Sea Coral Pro salt, I used this pump to move water from the Brute trash can into the tank, and it worked like a charm.
One thing that I immediately noticed was that the tank is now full of these micro-bubbles. Will these go away on there own?
Can’t wait to get the ATO set up tomorrow!

Today was much of the same in terms of hardware updates.
After installing the anti-siphon valve backwards (and then fixing it), I got the ATO system working. The AutoAqua Smart ATO Nano is a neat little device. We’ll see how it holds up long term, but so far no complaints.
The InTank Aquatics media chamber arrived today, too. The instructions online say that it’s very easy to remove the bracket holding the stock filter stock. I would not describe the process as easy haha. I really had to dig at the silicone with a box knife and forcefully rock the bracket to snap it off. If you have this tank, do not be afraid of getting a little physical with the bracket! And you only need to remove the one that is directly beneath the overflow.
Lastly, with all the hardware installed in the back of the tank, decided to add the @Kraken Reef lid to the tank. This thing is great. If you are looking for a lid this is highly recommended! It is solidly built and very high quality. Also really like the overflow screen that they sell, too.

I’d put the anti siphon closer down the line near the pump then you can keep your line full and your pump doesn’t need to pump the whole line to do a top up, it will be easier on your pump in the long run.Today was much of the same in terms of hardware updates.

Appreciate the feedback, but I’m not sure I understand. I know I’m a bit slow haha. Are you suggesting that I lower the valve to be closer to the water level?

So I would cut the tube coming out of your pump about an inch or 2 above the the pump in your reservoir add your siphon break and the rest of the hose above that
It should be as close to your pump as possible.
This will keep the majority of your return hose full of water making the pump have to push less water to your aquarium.

Check out Bio Spheres or Bio Gems to use in the media basket. The plastic ones that come with the tank are for fresh water setups.
