So I used to live in the Philippines. I would go at the reef flats during low tide and collect some edible algae. Its a very common delicacy to eat seaweeds back home.
Now my question is can we grow them in our sump or a separate system connected/plumped to our display. Then harvest them and eat them?
Is it safe for human consumption?

I suppose it is possible, but I would be really cautious because of the risk of consuming something either undesirable and/or dangerous. One example that comes to mind is if the system has zoanthids, then there may be an elevated risk of intaking palytoxins.

I'm leaning heavily more towards "Not" recommending it, but to each their own there. ;)
