Hi, just came to the beach in the Florida panhandle area. While in the water this morning, found a clump of floating macro algae, which I picked up and put in a small bucket - out came a lot of tiny things that were attached to it. Some looked like tiny shrimp, some looked like copepods and some looked like fish fry. Just a lot of life in that small algae, so I put it all back in the ocean. Seeing a lot of them floating around now. Should I take any risk bringing a small clump to the home aquarium to get bio diversity ? Scared to pests that may hitch hike. Would you put it in your home aquarium ?

I would if I could and I wouldn't think twice about it. Unfortunately I'm about 2000 km from the nearest ocean

I have netted floating Macro Algae. I put everything in a 15 Gallon Quarantine tank. Off of Dam Neck, VA I got a Pair of Pipefishes. Ended up turning that 15 Gallon into a Display for them. Had them for awhile, and they kept having babies, that never made it to Adulthood. That’s until I had to go out of town, my wife fed them Brine Shrimp and the Eggshells.:crying-face:
