Hey all,

I was wondering if this light is a good option for Blue Hypnea and Dragon Breath in my 15 gallon tank?

25000K is gonna be very blue/purple spectrum, I'd recommend something closer to 10000K/daylight if macroalgae is the focus.

Would adjusting the whites higher and blue/purple lower make a difference? Or would the algae die regardless?

For a macro algae tank, I think a lot of reefers use lights for freshwater planted tanks. If you like that Fluval, they make it in a 7500K (<this is the "color temp" of the light in Kelvins) freshwater version.

Your algae isn't going to just die under either light. Using a lower color temp is a bit more appropriate because macro algae tends to grow in shallow pools where they get more or less full sunlight. That's different from a coral that may live at say 30 feet down and sees largely a bluish light. But you could definitely use either light.

Thank you so much for all the info! I really appreciate it!
