Macro algae reactor question

Hey all! So, I’m setting up a macro algae reactor with chaeto today. I want to run opposite of the DT lights. My reactor has 2 plugs...1 for the pump and 1 for the lights. My question is: should I leave the reactor pump running 24/7 and the lights just for 12 hours? Sorry for the dumb question...I’m a newbie to all this technology.
