Macro algae reactor

I recently scored some acrylic to build a new sump for free. Ive wanted a fuge since i started my tank 8 months ago. Instead of rushing to finish the new sump to start the fuge i ordered a few cheap items to make a temporary macro reactor. Any ideas to improve it or advice to keep in mind when i begin building my new sump?

That's all you need, I running them on 2 tanks now. I'm very happy with the performance so far. As far as improvements go, what light are using, all you need is something in the 6500k range. Is really a very simple design with little that needs to be improved on, I use a small aquamaxx biopellet reactor on a 30g, and the large one on a 90g. Both running with a mj1200 pump.

sounds like I need to upgrade my LED strip then. the one I have on it now is 3000K. I'll run this one for maybe a month and see where I'm at. by then I hope to have my new sump completed. thanks for the input. after I complete the sump I plan on attaching this to my newly set up 20G so I'll certainly upgrade the strip by then . (though it'll prob be overkill on a 20g)

I also run the same, but both are small ones on my 90g and my 150g. I use a Sicce Syncra 1 on both. The leds are from ebay, cut to length. Here is the one on my 150g

I see you have the hydroponic specific light. did you start with those for that set up or did you use the whites first. and if you did what's the difference in growth? im using the one I made for 46g BF
