I will like to start a macro algae tank but can't find any guides to setting one up. I am interested in what I should be testing for and and fertilizers I should use. Any advice or links to articles will be great.

Check out reefcleaners.com. They have a great site and oodles of info on macroalgae, types, ease of keeping etc. John's a great source for info too and is more than willing to answer questions.

I guess this is a macro algae tank. I had a powerhead, hob filter and a t8 or t12 bulb.

Here is another one of my tanks. I probably just harvested the algae before the video thats why there isn't much. I will get a more updated video. It has lots of ulva growing now. You can see some red algae starting to grow on the clam. I used 120 watt half blue half white LEDs. My whites went out so now I use the blues with a t5 red sea pink bulb. Jebao wp25 at 100% and a aqueon hob filter.

I had a macro tank at one time too. I really liked it but had to break it down do to issues with one of my other tanks. I didn't treat it any differently than my sps tank except I wasn't dosing and just ran a dark fuge with liverock only. I had led lights, sump, skimmer, fish, corals, anemones just like any other reef tank. No special additives or dosing.
