Is there a different macro that I could put in my fuge that doesn't free float like chaeto?

I put a clump that I ordered from reefcleaners in and all it has done is fall apart and is now clogged in my return lines no matter how many different things I try to stop it from flowing over the baffle into the return chamber.

Is there anything else I could try?

The chaeto I got from them did the same thing. I'm not sure what that is but it was just a bag of shredded up algae that made a mess. I wouldn't buy that anymore.

Try some from someone that has it growing in their tank already. It should grow in a nice mat or ball shape if tumbled. That chaeto from reefcleaners is unusable IMO. You'll still have stray bits from chaeto but it should hold together and float nicely.

After emailing him asking for suggestions I was told my light may not be strong enough. But I read that most people on here just use the 5000k 75 watt equiv bulbs from HD or Lowes, which is what I have. Is this too weak?

No your light is fine for chaeto.
