Best to wait ti'll it's done. The macro algae is going to want to start taking up nutrients that you need to help your tank cycle, and could potentially make it take longer

What I thought, thanks for the info. Never set up a tank with macro algae before

Do you have to acclimate macro algae? Sorry for the dumb questions just trying to get more info cause Google sucks right now

I would at least temperature acclimate it first but for the most part it should be okay.

+1 for this maybe a rinse in fresh saltwater.

If it's coming from a friend that's local I don't bother to acclimate it. If you are buying some online and its being shipped to you I would temp acclimate it. Also if you get some Cheato dont be surprised if the bag doesnt have water in it. Cheato just needs a good amount of moisture in the back to survive the trip.

Correct The only way it would be bad is to ask for advice, and then blatantly ignore it and tell us were wrong

Thanks everyone, I've never used macro algae in any of my systems and I didn't want to do anything that would cause stress or death to anything.
