Hi all, I'm trying to figure out what this is. It's a red fuzzy growth like some type of algae, not cyano as it's well attached and needs to be scraped off. It lives in high flow areas as seen in the pic of the return even right at the opening and on the powerheads protective slotted covers.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for looking!

Well, did more research and I'm guessing it's red turf algae.

Thanks

That was my first guess. Hard to remove. Pull the affected areas from the tank, scrub clean, spray with 3% hydrogen peroxide, rinse with rodi and put back in the tank. If it's on rocks with corals, just be careful to keep the H2O2 from touching the corals
